Civility Puppets Presents The Kindness Kids

The brainchild of Julie Holmberg, an educator and puppeteer, Civility Puppets is a puppet troupe dedicated to teaching young people the essential values of kindness and empathy. During her career as an elementary school educator, Julie often used puppetry as a fun and engaging teaching tool. More Recently, Julie and her special puppet friend, Marigold, have been performing at small local venues, reading children's stories to delighted audiences - of all ages.

When Stewart's Shops brought back its Civility ice cream in 2024 after introducing it in 2018 as a sweet reminder to encourage civility, Julie was inspired to launch a new and creative puppet project. In Spring 2024, she applied for and received a grant from Stewart's Holiday Match Program. This seed money allowed Julie to raise additional funds to purchase a troupe of colorful muppet-like characters. The Kindness Kids were born!

Julie and her troupe are on a mission to sprinkle kindness near and far!  The Kindness Kids are getting ready to perform at pre-schools and elementary schools around the Capital Region.
